Acupuncture is an ancient system of Healing. It is officially recognized by The World Health Organization.
Acupuncture treatment involves inserting hair thin sterilized needles into predetermined points along the body. There are over 300 acupuncture points in the body. All of these points are connected to meridians of energy. Imagine channels of energy that flow from your fingertips up through your arms or from your toes up through your legs. These channels connect to different organs in the body. When the acupuncture needles are inserted, they have a profound effect on the channels of energy in the body and their respective organs.
The session takes place in the Studio 2 treatment room. The session lasts 1 hour. Depending on the condition, a course of several treatments is recommended. Every person is different but in general from the first consultation you can expect an improvement in your condition and your symptoms to reduce. As an acupuncturist, Aoife will endeavour to diagnose the root cause of disease in a patient. She looks at the overall symptoms to determine where the client’s individual imbalance lies and what is underneath this pattern of disharmony. She will then treat the symptoms of disease as well as the root cause with the aim of redressing overall health and well-being.
Aoife trained as an Acupuncturist and Naturopath at the College of Natural Medicine (CNM) under the expertise of Deirdre Courtney and Stephen Langley. She has treated patients with insomnia, depression, musculoskeletal pain and injury, digestive disorders, fertility, assisted fertility IVF, pregnancy, women’s health and cancer care management. She is a registered member of the Acupuncture Society of Professional Oriental Therapists (MAcS 1244) and a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland (TCMCI ACI 627114).
